On the 29 th of March 1948 Rev E.L Freeman and Sis Nona Freeman were the first United Pentecostal Church Missionaries to arrive in South Africa to begin the work of God that we have come to know today as the United Pentecostal Church of South Africa (UPCSA).

Brief history

What is UPC and where did it originate.

United Pentecostal Church was formed in September 1945 in St. Louis MO, USA after the merger of the 2 organizations, namely: The Pentecostal Church, Incorporated & the Pentecostal Assemblies of Jesus Christ. In 1979, the word International was added to its name to be called United Pentecostal Church International. The UPCI has been the fastest growing Oneness organization since its formation in 1945 with 521 churches and 1838 ministers. To date, UPC has grown to more than 42000 churches, 40000 licensed ministers with around 4.900.000 members, existing in around 215 countries around the globe.
